Rita Ora called on all women in the music industry to “stick together” as she joined forces with US star Bebe Rexha to make a rallying cry for womankind.

The singer hosted the first London meeting of the Women in Harmony group launched by Rexha in Los Angeles earlier this year.

The Notting Hill event brought together women from across the music and creative worlds.

Ora told the Standard: “I’ve never been part of anything that’s this strong. Seeing someone like Bebe who is so outspoken, so proud of who they are and represents themselves and still wants to help other people … I’ve never met anyone who can compare to her in the industry.”

Rexha spoke about why she started the group: “I’ve never heard anyone in this industry talk about a male and say they were emotional or all over the place.

"But I’ve heard it about female writers, about female artists — people saying they are divas. How come there’s no word for a male that’s a diva?”

The Meant To Be singer added: “The top 40 on the US radio is 16 per cent females and 84 per cent males.

“When I found that out I was upset and thought, ‘Something’s got to change’. I decided to put this together.

“I don’t care what level of success anybody is at... but I wanted to keep it for creative females.

“I wanted to create an environment where we can network, talk about our journeys and things we have been going through.

"Because I never had that growing up in the industry and I wish I had that.”
