Liam Payne and Rita Ora have stoked speculation of a romance after they were caught grinding up against each other at a VMAs concert.

Payne was filmed standing behind Ora with his arms around her as he whispered in her ear at a concert ahead of the annual MTV awards.

The pair seemed unable to keep their hands to themselves as they watched Bebe Rexha perform at Terminal 5 in Manhattan on Sunday night.

The affectionate display came minutes after they performed their Fifty Shades Of Grey hit, For You.

Payne later posted a picture of the pair on stage looking as though they are about to kiss.

He captioned the Instagram shot with a love heart and the words: “That was fun! @Ritaora @vmas.”

Payne is said to be dating model Cairo Dwek following his split from Cheryl in July, while Ora is dating musician Andrew Watt.

The pair fuelled rumours Payne had split up with Cheryl, who he has son Bear with, earlier this year following their raunchy duet on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in the US.

It came around the time Payne revealed he and Cheryl were going through a “tense” patch.

Ora said she never wanted to get involved in their relationship, telling the Evening Standard: “Just imagine being the person in that situation. I obviously tried to respect Cheryl and everything that was going down at the time.

“I was very professional, as was Liam, and I completely stayed out of it. We had one goal – to promote the single, and we did just that.”
