Mariah Carey and James Packer’s split was sparked by a fight while holidaying in Greece.

The couple have not seen each other since, but are trying to reconcile their differences.

A spokesperson for Carey said in a statement: “Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since.

They also quashed cheating allegations and dismissed claims that Packer left over the Hero singer’s “excessive spending”.

The spokesperson said: “The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah.

“James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world. They are trying to work it out. Right now, they're not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it, and plan to release an official statement together about their future.”

The split was first reported in Australian magazine Woman’s Day by a friend of Carey who said: “It’s all over. James had huge reservations about Mariah’s new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world.”

Packer, 48, was reported to have called time on the relationship because of her over the top spending habits, while TMZ claimed the billionaire casino businessman was angered by Carey’s alleged friendship with a dancer from her Las Vegas residency.

The couple met in 2015 and announced their engagement in January 2015.
