Mariah Carey was schmoozing with Leonardo DiCaprio and a host of his famous friends at his annual fundraising gala in the south of France.

The 46-year-old singer made sure to turn heads in a plunging black gown as she posed for a photo with the Oscar winning actor at the Domaine Bertaud Belieu vineyard in St Tropez.

Carey – who was joined by her billionaire fiance James Packer – also shared pictures of herself with Chris Rock and The Weeknd from the event which featured an auction to raise money for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

The annual gala welcomed a litany of stars including Jonah Hill, Bono, Tobey Maguire, Kate Hudson and Edward Norton as well as attracting some of the biggest names in fashion.

Lily Donaldson and Naomi Campbell opted for sheer black numbers while Doutzen Kroes looked stunning in a metallic cami dress.

Lionel Richie's daughter Sofia shunned a dress in favour of a silver jumpsuit which she teamed with diamond jewellery.

Guests, who arrived by boat, were treated to a formal dinner, before DiCaprio gave an impassioned speech about the work his foundation undertakes.

Lana Del Ray was invited to perform.

The auction featured lots donated by stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bono and Martin Scorsese.

Guests raised huge sums of money by bidding on items from Schwarzenegger's Harley Davidsons to a holiday in DiCaprio's Palm Springs hotel as well as two tickets to sit at Harvey Weinstein's table at the Weinstein Company Nominees Dinner ahead of the Academy Awards.

DiCaprio’s charity has donated more than £45 million to 112 projects since 2008.
