Piers Morgan may have lost out at the National Television Awards - but he’s celebrating not having to go vegan.

The Good Morning Britain host, who previously vowed to embrace a plant-based diet for a week if the show won the Daytime TV gong, drowned his sorrows in a full English breakfast.

Morgan shared an angry selfie with his sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast, telling viewers he is “still livid”.

He shared the snap on Instagram alongside the caption: “On a positive note, losing at the NTAs means I don’t have to go vegan for a week. So... breakfast!”

After the ITV account sent commiserations to Morgan, the presenter joked about the pair, posting: “Absolutely thrilled for the snivelling little wretches.”

Morgan later announced on Twitter that he would be throwing “everything” out of the pram after Good Morning Britain failed to bag the award.

Morgan’s co-host Susanna Reid pleaded with viewers ahead of the ceremony to give her an “excuse to drink” by winning the gong.

But after losing out Reid revealed she skimmed past the drinks despite previously admitting she has been “desperate” for one.
