Justin Bieber left a fan with a bloodied lip after he punched him in the face.

The Canadian pop star, 22, hit out at the fan after they tried to touch him through the open window of his car.

Footage obtained by US site TMZ shows the singer smiling to waiting fans as he arrives at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona for his Purpose World Tour.

A male fan is then seen leaning into the window as the car drives away before Bieber lashes out.

The fan can be seen holding his lip in shock as people rally around him to see what happened.

Bieber received an outpouring of support online with many defending his actions, including Piers Morgan who said he would have reacted in the same way.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain he said: “I’m with Bieber on this. If some snotty geek grabbed me in a moving car I’d give him a short one.”

Standard Online has contacted a representative for Bieber for comment.

The shocking footage emerged hours after the singer was pictured posing with a group of young fans in the Spanish city.

Dressed in a red tracksuit, Bieber was all smiles as he crouched down to pose for pictures with the group.

It is not the first physical altercation the Sorry singer has been embroiled in.

During his UK tour in 2013 Bieber was filmed lunging at a photographer.

The following year he famously got into an altercation with Orlando Bloom at Cipriani restaurant in Ibiza.

The row came amid reports that Bieber had struck up a friendship with Bloom’s ex Miranda Kerr while she was still married to the actor.
