Ant McPartlin’s wife has denied reports she wants to to hire 'feared' lawyer Baroness Fiona Shackleton to settle her divorce from the TV star.

It had been claimed Lisa Armstrong was in talks with Baroness Shackleton as she prepares to battle for a share of McPartlin’s £62 million fortune.

A source told The Sun: “If he thought this was going to be straightforward and amicable, he could not have been more wrong.

“Ant should now understand that he is in for a turbulent few months. If the end of his marriage to Lisa has not yet hit home, it is about to.”

But a representative said the story was wrong.

Baroness Shackleton’s previous divorce clients include Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Petra Ecclestone.

She is also the solicitor to Princes William and Harry.

Armstrong and McPartlin announced their split last month after 11 years of marriage.

It was previously reported that McPartlin looked set to pay Armstrong a record £31 million in their divorce settlement.

They are also expected to fight for custody over their dog Hurley, who was granted special dispensation to visit McPartlin in rehab last year.

Armstrong recently hinted that she has suffered a “tough year” after fans reached out to her following McPartlin’s emotional acceptance speech at the National Television Awards.

The make-up artist tweeted “thank you” to a fan who posted: “@lisaAmakeup everyone is talking about Ant but just wanted to say you’ve had a tough year aswell & I hope you are ok. Congrats on your NTA. Much love x.”

She also thanked fans for their support as she returned to work on Britain’s Got Talent, which is fronted by her estranged husband and Declan Donnelly.
