Ant and Dec have hinted that they could be taking to the West End stage when their ITV contract is up.

The Geordie duo, who won an RTS Award earlier this week, have suggested that they could be moving in a different direction and are ‘throwing ideas around.’

Speaking to the Sun about the possibility of signing a new deal with the channel after their current one expires, Dec said:

“Our three big shows and the shows we love are on ITV. But we are also evaluating and looking at other things.”

Doing Saturday Night Takeaway on tour has inspired the presenters to consider returning to the stage.

“We loved doing Saturday Night Takeaway on tour so we are looking at the possibility of another tour or even theatre,” Dec added.

“We could do something in the West End. We are throwing around ideas. These days it is not just ITV, BBC, Netflix, Amazon, it is all kinds of things. We love doing things live.”

The presenting pair also working on a new comedy, admitting that a pilot is in the pipeline.

“We are also looking to do a comedy next year. It is something we have been discussing for years. There is stuff down on paper now,” said Dec.
