Adele has spoken out about her decision not to stream her music, claiming that it’s too ‘disposable.’

The chart-topping superstar has said that she likes music to be ‘an event’ and that experience is lost through streaming.

Speaking to Time magazine, she said: “It's a bit disposable, streaming. I believe music should be an event.

“I don't use streaming. I buy my music. I download it, and I buy a physical [copy] just to make up for the fact that someone else somewhere isn't.”

The 27-year-old, whose current album 25 has smashed a number of chart records, went on to say that she doesn’t quite know how to feel about streaming yet.

“I know that streaming music is the future, but it's not the only way to consume music," she said.

"I can't pledge allegiance to something that I don't know how I feel about yet.”

While the singer’s two previous albums, 19 and 21, are still available to stream, she has made the decision not to do the same with 25.

Adele’s third studio album has now surpassed Taylor Swift’s 1989 in the US, having sold 5.98 million copies.

The new record is now the biggest-selling in the US since her previous effort.
