A further 406 people have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test while 18,607 new cases of the virus have been confirmed.
This is a slight fall from Sunday, where 587 deaths within 28 days of a positive test and 21,088 cases were recorded.
This time last week 22,195 people tested positive and 592 deaths were reported.
The latest government figures come following the 22,195 new positive tests recorded last Monday - which was the lowest daily rise in cases so far this year.

A total of 8,543,262 Covid-19 vaccinations had taken place in England between December 8 and January 31, according to provisional NHS England data, including first and second doses, which is a rise of 292,116 on the previous day’s figures.
Of this number, 8,082,355 were the first dose of the vaccine, a rise of 289,359 on the previous day’s figures, while 460,907 were the second dose, an increase of 2,757.
In the UK 9,790,576 doses have now been administered in total - an increase of 322,194 over the past 24 hours.
