New X Factor judge Ayda Field is reportedly already causing a stir on the ITV show after “taking on Simon Cowell” – and winning.

The Loose Women panellist and wife of Robbie Williams was unveiled as one of the brand new judges for the singing competition earlier this month, alongside Williams and Louis Tomlinson.

Some were quick to question her credentials for such a prestigious role but Field “proved why she deserves to be on the panel” when she took on the head judge and emerged victorious.

A source told The Sun: “Ayda challenged Simon behind the scenes over his decision to not give them a second chance.

“He told the girls, Aaliyah and Acacia, it was the end of the road. But they really impressed Ayda so she went backstage and asked them to return as a group soon after.

“Simon was insistent it was a bad idea but they sang Bang Bang when they re-auditioned and the crowd, and Simon, were blown away. They got a standing ovation.”

So blown away was Cowell that he told them: “I’m very excited about you two — there’s something very special happening here. I’m very excited about this band, you could be huge.”

Williams reportedly vowed to dress up in drag after seeing Thomas Pound audition, even having his drag name Rayne Wooney picked out.
