Wise's cup warning

Dennis Wise today told his Millwall players not to get carried away with the club's FA Cup success this season.

His side face Tranmere in the quarter-finals next month and are expected to make it into the last four for the first time since 1937.

But player-manager Wise does not want a rare Cup run to detract from the main aim of promotion. Millwall have been edging towards the Division One play-off places but have a tricky game away to Preston tomorrow.

They have lost only one league game in their last nine and Wise wants nothing to disrupt their good form. He said: 'We did what we had to in the Cup and it is great that we are progressing, but now it is vital for us as a club to continue to do well in the league.

'Our aim is to get into the play-offs this season and we cannot forget that. We don't seem to have had a particularly good record against Preston and this is a big game for us.'

Wise has no new injuries for tomorrow's game, but captain Kevin Muscat could be a doubt after his long trip to Venezuela with Australia.
