Vaughan cheering on Johnson and Co

England's cricketers have sent their own good luck message to Martin Johnson's team ahead of Saturday's World Cup rugby showdown in Sydney.

Michael Vaughan's squad have been able to watch all England's big matches Down Under, despite being on tour in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

This weekend will be no exception, thanks to live television coverage.

"On behalf of the England cricket team, I'd like to wish our rugby team all the best for the World Cup Final against Australia on Saturday," said Vaughan.

"For both our sports, winning against Australia in Australia is one of the great challenges. You've done really well getting to the final, now good luck for this massive game - we'll be cheering for you here in Colombo."

England have not beaten Australia in an Ashes series since 1986. But they did win a Test in Sydney 11 months ago - with Vaughan scoring a brilliant century.
