Tough going as John Higgins forges ahead

John Higgins took an early advantage in the first World Snooker semi-final at the Crucible this afternoon to lead 3-1 after his first session against Mark Allen.
Higgins had a highest break of 55 in the four frames played as both players struggled to build any momentum.
The evening session will see Shaun Murphy face Australian hope Neil Robertson in the second
semi-final and Higgins believes the clash will be a tight affair.
"Mark's a breath of fresh air for the game and for this tournament," said the two-time world champion. "He's got that bit about him to do well under the cosh."
