Sri Lanka grab win after shocking start

13 April 2012

Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh today despite seeing their first five wickets fall for just six runs.

Chasing 153 in the one-day international in Mirpur, Sri Lanka lost Sanath Jayasuriya and Mahela Jayawardene for ducks, Chamara Kapugedera and Thilan Thushara each for one and Upul Tharanga for two.

Kumar Sangakkara steadied the ship with 59 and Muttiah Muralitharan saw them home, making an unbeaten 33 off 16 balls, with 11 deliveries remaining.

South Africa enjoyed more success against Australia when sealing a three-wicket win in Melbourne.

The Aussies made 271 for eight and looked set to triumph when the visitors lost four quick wickets but Albie Morkel's rapid 40 saw them home with three balls left.
