Yarm, who reached their first semi-final last season, were 14 points downin the first ten minutes at Sedgefield but gradually got their act togetherto dominate the game and score tries through Collier and Ashurst.

McConnellconverted one but it was his penalty kick which gave Yarm their 15-14 win.

There was an even more prolific burst of early scoring at Wakefield whereOutwood Grange produced six tries in the first 20 minutes against PenistoneGrammar.

The visitors, facing a powerful pack, tackled their way back intothe game and deserve some credit despite the 51-0 scoreline.

Ripon Grammartravelled north of Hadrian's Wall to face Haydon Bridge and came away witha 30-7 win in the wind and driving rain.

Their clever scrum half AdamWhiter scored four tries plus one from winger Richard Webster and JamesBevington but Ripon gave away too many penalties and could have beenpunished on another day.

The rain was bucketing down at Lymm too but thehome side still attempted 15-man rugby and were rewarded with sevendifferent try scorers in their 43-0 win over gallant visitors CaldayGrange.
