Gold glee for British trio

Great Britain won gold in the women's team pursuit at the Track World Cup event in Cali, Colombia, with a convincing victory over New Zealand.

The team consisting of Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Storey and world champions Wendy Houvenaghel and Laura Trott combined for a winning time of three minutes and 31.835 seconds.

New Zealand, who had been the fastest qualifiers, were timed at three minutes and 37.072 seconds as Lauren Ellis, Jamie Nielsen and Alison Shanks took the silver medal.

The United States claimed bronze by beating Lithuania.
