Scots bid to impress

13 April 2012

Scotland have moved on from the disappointing performance against Japan and are focused on their next encounter, in which they face the United States in Brisbane next Monday.

A full squad meeting has dealt with the many shortcomings exposed in the 32-11 win in Townsville and prop Gavin Kerr said: "The lads were disappointed with the way some of the things went but there were some good things that came out of the game.

"We're going to pick up on the things that went badly. We had a chat about the things we had to work on, but other than that we don't want to get ourselves down.

"We got the win and it wasn't great, but we've got to move on."

The Scottish squad are enjoying their last few days in the resort town of Caloundra, an hour north of Brisbane, before they move to a city hotel on Friday.

Simon Taylor's back injury, which occurred during training on Monday, is still being assessed, but he is confident that it is not a serious problem.
