Savage fit for Wales

13 April 2012

Wales manager Mark Hughes expects Robbie Savage and Simon Davies to be fit enough to face Scotland at the Millennium Stadium tomorrow.

Midfielders Savage and Davies missed training yesterday because of calf and groin injuries respectively.

But Hughes said today: 'Neither of them trained on Sunday or Monday, but both have trained today.

'I do not expect them to miss the match.'

Nine of Hughes' original squad have pulled out of the friendly in Cardiff, while Darren Barnard has been allowed to return to Grimsby to play in tonight's Division Two game with Bristol City. He will only return if Hughes decides he needs the full-back.

Hughes added: 'I know the team I will field. We have lost a few who I would have preferred to be here to work on things, but it will still be a good exercise for us.

'In the past when this has happened, other young players have come in and made their mark.'
