Toulon 'sack' for Gavin Henson

10 April 2012

Gavin Henson's Toulon career is over after two games, according to reports in France today.

Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal has decided the Welshman will not play for the club again following his alleged involvement in a brawl with team-mates earlier this month.

Henson joined the Top 14 club on a short-term contract in February but was suspended after the nightclub incident which followed victory over Toulouse.

Boudjellal refused to confirm the sacking and said he "will speak later this week" but it seems the 29-year-old has blown his chances of making Wales World Cup squad.

Henson was initially hampered by a hamstring injury, but made a try-scoring debut against Stade Francais with his second start coming against Toulouse.
