Republic boss Trapattoni tells Keane to bolt for Liverpool

Giovanni Trapattoni last night urged his Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane to join Liverpool. The Irish coach believes the Tottenham striker will become a more complete player by playing in the Champions League under Rafa Benitez.

Trapattoni said: ‘I don’t know what is happening with Liverpool at the moment but I would be very happy for him (to move). I hope it happens for him because it will be a big challenge. It would be important for him and important for us.’
