Powell aims for automatic promotion

13 April 2012

Darren Powell says Brentford have their sights set on automatic promotion after beating Notts County with a last-minute goal on Saturday.

They came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to a Paul Evans penalty and a Ben Burgess strike in injury-time, and are now third in Division Two.

Brentford face Oldham away tomorrow and promotion rivals Bristol City at Ashton Gate next weekend, and defender Powell is in high spirits.

"We're not going to just settle for the play-offs," he said. "There are two automatic promotion places to go for and we want to get one."
