On-the-mend Casey is forced to delay return

Paul Casey's hopes of being crowned European No1 have suffered a big blow as he has been forced to delay his comeback.

The Englishman has not played for eight weeks because of a rib muscle injury and had hoped to return at next week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.

But he said today he will not be back in action until the Volvo World Match Play in Spain at the end of next month.

Casey, second to injured German Martin Kaymer on the Tour money list, said: "While I feel I am extremely close to being fully fit I have decided to withdraw from the Championship.
