1987: Mike Tyson beat the IBF champion Tony Tucker on points over 12 rounds in Las Vegas to become the first undisputed world heavyweight champion since Leon Spinks in 1978.

1992: Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan's record run of 38 consecutive match wins in ranking tournaments was ended by Sean Storey.

1999: Arsenal sign Davor Suker.


1999: Arsenal paid £1million to Real Madrid for Croatian striker Davor Suker, the Golden Boot winner at the World Cup in 1998.

2004: Boudewijn Zenden signed for Middlesbrough on a one-year deal, having spent a season on loan from Chelsea. He joined Liverpool 12 months later.

2005: Ferrari signed Felipe Massa from Sauber as their second driver for the 2006 Formula One season, replacing Rubens Barrichello.

2006: Leeds owner Ken Bates reported his former club Chelsea to the Football Association, Premier League and FIFA after claiming they recruited two Elland Road youngsters by making illegal approaches. The West Yorkshire club eventually accepted a settlement fee.

2007: Newcastle agreed a fee for Manchester United striker Alan Smith.
