Murray secures final spot

12 April 2012

British number one Andy Murray coasted into the final of the Open 13 in Marseille, crushing Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-2 6-2.

The Scot, who missed Great Britain's Davis Cup assignment against Argentina last week due to concerns over a knee complaint, brushed aside the Frenchman to set up a meeting with Mario Ancic.

The world number 11, who edged out Nicolas Mahut in the last eight, managed to break his opponent's serve twice in each set to secure a comfortable victory.

The 20-year-old was pleased with his performance, saying: "It was really good and there were not too many mistakes.

"I played really aggressively, hit a lot of winners and didn't give any chances on my serve. I'm really happy with the way I played."
