Murray relishing US Open

Andy Murray is optimistic of his chances at the US Open and admitted the "buzz" of the tournament is unlike any other in world tennis.

The 21-year-old Scot is eager to get back into major tournament action after his quest for Olympic gold in China ended in failure.

The British number one, who faces Argentinian Sergio Roitman in the opening round at Flushing Meadows, said: "New York is one of my favourite cities. I think it's a great atmosphere. I love the tournament as well, the atmosphere is different to all the other grand slams."

He added: "There is always a little buzz, even in the middle of the points, that's the main difference between this tournament and others.

"It's good for the crowd to get into it. It's different to Wimbledon, which is very quiet.

"Here it is the opposite - it's much louder. It's good and it's a different feeling to play. I love coming to play here. I think I can do really well."
