Mugabe man guards England team

England's cricketers landed in Harare earlier today for their much-criticised three-week tour of Zimbabwe.

They received assurances about their safety in a country in turmoil because of attacks of white-owned farms.

The Zimbabwe Cricket Union have appointed security officers who will stay with the England squad throughout their stay but even that could be controversial because the head of their security unity, Dan Stannard, used to be the head of president Robert Mugabe?s personal security squad.

England captain Nasser Hussain says he will shake hands with Mugabe if ordered to do so by English cricket authorities.
