Moving on? Olof Mellberg

The 29-year-old wants to test himself in Serie A despite O'Neill wanting pre-Christmas talks.

Mellberg's decision could be based on Villa's £7m bid for Porto's Jose Boswinga while O'Neill is reported to be unhappy that Mellberg has been touted by his agents - and has not denied his interest in Juve.

O'Neill has been promised January funds from owner Randy Lerner and has also targeted FC Toronto 21-year-old midfielder Maurice Edu.
