Martyn leads way as Aussies crush Kiwis

14 April 2012

Australia's cricketers charged to another crushing victory as they beat New Zealand by seven wickets today to go 4-0 up in their limited overs series.

Damien Martyn was not out 65 as the Aussies reached a modest target of 234 with more than 15 overs to spare in Wellington.

Adam Gilchrist and Simon Katich smashed 78 off the first 10 overs, while Andrew Symonds followed suit with 48 from 37 deliveries as Australia made 236 for three in only 34.2 overs.

New Zealand's 233 fell way short of what was expected after Stephen Fleming and Nathan Astle had shared an opening stand of 84 in only 17 overs.
