London life is capital for Baresi

13 April 2012

Fulham's new director of football Franco Baresi has been getting used to life in London by staying at one of Mohammed Fayed's penthouses overlooking Hyde Park.

The millionaire Fulham chairman persuaded the Italian to leave AC Milan during the summer and Baresi, whose new club take on Finland's FC Haka in the Intertoto Cup at Craven Cottage on Saturday, gave a glimpse today of how he has spent his first weeks in London.

He said: "Fulham's president has lent me one of his flats. It's a jewel.

"It's true Fulham are not Manchester United but we can have success. Fulham are a small but healthy club which resemble Atalanta in Italy."

Meanwhile, Manchester United's Argentina international Juan Sebastian Veron has been called to appear before Italy's state prosecutor in Rome on Friday week to answer allegations of illegally acquiring an Italian passport.
