Line-up to replace ITV Digital

The BBC, BSkyB and transmitter company Crown Castle have won the three digital terrestrial television licences left vacant after the demise of ITV Digital.

Viewers will pay about £100 for a set-top box to receive the services -but all the channels will be free-to-view.

The channel line-up is expected to be as follows:

ITV1

Channel 4
Channel 5
S4C
A general entertainment channel (to be confirmed)

The line-up will also include BBCi offering interactive television and text, and other interactive services which have yet to be confirmed.

Six BBC Radio services will be available as well as a number of as yet unconfirmed commercial radio stations.
