Lewington on Millwall's list

Ray Lewington is in the running to succeed Dennis Wise as manager at Millwall.

The former Watford boss is understood to be on the shortlist already drawn up by new Millwall chairman Jeff Burnige.

Lewington, 47, was sacked by Watford in March, only two months after guiding the Championship side to the Carling Cup semi-finals.

He is on gardening leave while he waits for legal clearance to start his next job.

Meanwhile, League One side Barnsley today appointed Andy Ritchie as manager. The former Oldham boss had been in temporary charge since taking over after Paul Hart's departure in March.
