MARCH 9:

MARCH 3: Peter Ridsdale resigns as chairman to be replaced by Professor John McKenzie.

MAY 4: A 3-2 win at Highbury against Arsenal secures Leeds' top-flight status - and hands the title to Manchester United. Olivier Dacourt's switch to Roma is made permanent in a £3.5million deal.

MAY 9: Reid is handed the manager's job on a full-time basis and on a rolling contract.

JULY 9: Harry Kewell leaves for Liverpool in a much-protracted saga which sees Leeds receive just £3m, with around another £2m heading to his agents.

SEPT 24: Leeds need a late header by goalkeeper Paul Robinson to reach extra time and then beat Swindon on penalties in the second round of the Carling Cup.

OCT 26: Leeds reveal a record £49.5m loss for the year - with the club's debt now around £79m.

NOV 1: Arsenal romp to a 4-1 win at Elland Road, a game for which Mark Viduka had been dropped.

NOV 2: Leicester's win over Blackburn sends Leeds to the bottom of the Premiership.

NOV 8: Leeds, again without Viduka, are thumped 6-1 at Portsmouth.

NOV 10: Leeds part company with Reid.
