Lampard wants deal sorted

Daily Mail Reporter14 April 2012

Frank Lampard insists he wants to stay at Chelsea for the rest of his career - but has called on the club to resolve talks over his future before Euro 2004.

Lampard admitted that talks over a new long-term deal have hit some 'snags', with the 25 - year- old midfielder understood to be seeking equal wages with some of the club's recent high-profile signings. Given those circumstances, it is hardly surprising that the likes of Inter Milan have shown interest.

Lampard, who still has two years left on his existing contract, said: 'You take it as flattering, as teams like that don't come in for you unless you're doing something right. But I want to stay at Chelsea, I'm very settled on and off the pitch.'

Inter is the preferred destination of Juan Sebastian Veron. The Argentina midfielder has proved a major flop at Chelsea this season having joined from Manchester United for £15m last summer.

And Chelsea's Holland defender Mario Melchiot claims he has offers to weigh up from the Premiership and abroad. He said: 'I would have no problems staying in the Premiership.'
