Irish loss was a blip, says Shane

14 April 2012

Shane Williams is confident Wales can atone for their Dublin drubbing by denting unbeaten France's Six Nations title hopes on Sunday.

Wales started their campaign in fine style with a 23-10 win over Scotland but were beaten 36-15 by the Irish.

The Neath-Swansea wing believes that was nothing more than a blip.

Williams said: "I would say the Irish game was more of a hiccup than a step back. Hopefully, everyone has now addressed the problems and we can move on.

"France are a different threat from Scotland and Ireland. I've always enjoyed the way they play. They've got a unique style, and the word 'flair' sums it up perfectly. But we are just as good as far as flair and speed are concerned.

"I am enjoying my rugby so much at the moment. When I came back from the World Cup, I couldn't wait for the next game. I really enjoyed the win over Scotland but more is always expected. However, things take time and don't happen overnight."
