Ince calls on Gazza

12 April 2012

Paul Ince would welcome the help of former England team-mate Paul Gascoigne after taking over as player-manager at Macclesfield.

The 39-year-old has taken his first steps into management by signing a 14-month deal to take over as player-boss at Moss Rose, which will then become a six-month rolling contract. Now Ince has called on Gascoigne to join him as he bids to move the Silkmen from the bottom of the Football League, where they sit seven points adrift of second-bottom Boston.

Ince said: "Paul is always welcome here. If he has any ideas he wants to pass, I'd welcome them. He has done some coaching before and I'd be interested in hearing his ideas."
