Hick on 123 and climbing

Graeme Hick moved up another notch in cricket's list of great batsmen when a masterful innings of 204 not out killed off New Zealand's bid for victory over Worcestershire at New Road.

The 123rd hundred of Hick's career placed him alongside Middlesex and England hero Denis Compton in 11th place in the all-time table of first-class century-makers.

It is now three years since Hick slipped out of Test cricket but at county level he continues to be a major force. This was his 93rd century for Worcestershire.
