Hewitt told to calm down

Lleyton Hewitt has been warned to tone down his on-court antics or face the threat of being punched out in the men's locker room.

Australian Hewitt, the seventh seed at the Australian Open in Melbourne, and his fist pumping celebrations are enjoyed by the crowd.

But Andre Agassi's coach Brad Gilbert, a fiery character when a tour professional, said: "At some point, I would be amazed if someone didn't whack him in the locker room. If I was on the other end of his antics I would have snapped by now."

Hewitt says his extrovert behaviour is a natural expression of his fighting qualities and insists other players have not taken him to task about his clenched fist taunts.

His girlfriend, Kim Clijsters, one of the young stars of the women's tour, said: "It's Lleyton's personality. He is a great fighter and that is why the crowd loves him so much."
