Hansen on mark

Brendan Hansen set another world record at the US Olympic swimming trials, stealing some attention away from Michael Phelps.

Hansen won the 200metres breaststroke in 2mins 9.04secs yesterday. On Thursday, he broke the 100 breaststroke world record.

"When I got in this pool for the first time, I definitely thought something special might happen," said Hansen.

Phelps advanced to today's final in the 200m backstroke as the second-fastest qualifier. The 19-year-old was conserving energy for the 200m individual medley semis, in which he qualified nearly four seconds ahead of anyone else.
