Goosen leads Lancombe Trophy

Play in the Lancome Trophy in Paris was halted at noon today for a minute?s silence in memory of the victims of last week?s atrocity in America.

And with rain starting at that precise moment Sergio Garcia said: ?It was eerie ? it was as if the sky was crying.?

Garcia went on to shoot a three-under score of 67, but leader on the course was US Open winner Retief Goosen.

He started birdie-bogey-birdie and then hit seven birdies in a row ? only one off the tour record ? to take the lead at six under.

Playing partner Colin Montgomerie was having a torrid time and was one over after 11.
