Golden goal defeat for Brush

13 April 2012

Paul Brush's first match in charge of Leyton Orient ended in a 3-2 golden goal defeat at Dagenham & Redbridge in the LDV Vans Trophy.

Brush, who took over as manager of the Third Division club from Tommy Taylor on Monday, saw his side throw away a two-goal lead against the Conference leaders and he said: "I'm pretty choked but at least, for most of the game, we got a performance that shows that we want to play.

"Dagenham are a good side and we knew they wouldn't give up. But we're not happy with the way we conceded the winner from the corner and there was no marking for their first goal.

"Overall, if you'd have told me I would have had that level of performance and commitment I would have said we are getting somewhere but our confidence is still a bit brittle."
