Gallas flies into Ranieri rumpus

Ian Gibb|Daily Mail13 April 2012

Chelsea defender William Gallas faces disciplinary action after refusing to travel to Manchester United for Saturday's 1-1 draw.

The centre half is believed to have had a massive row with manager Claudio Ranieri, whose credibility will have been undermined severely as he battles in vain to save his job.

Gallas returned from three weeks out through injury for last Wednesday's 2-2 home draw with Monaco that put Chelsea out of the Champions League.

Ranieri wanted Gallas to travel on Friday as back-up on the bench after captain Marcel Desailly had been ruled out.

Instead, Gallas did not travel with the squad and is believed to have flown to France on Saturday, with plans to return to his native Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
