Francis to meet Kolinko

13 April 2012

Crystal Palace manager Trevor Francis will meet goalkeeper Alex Kolinko in the next seven days to end their much-publicised spat.

Francis is under investigation by the Football Association and the police for allegedly punching Kolinko in the face.

Francis claims the player was laughing after Bradford scored in a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park last week and that he "cuffed him around the ear".

But the Latvian, away on international duty, denies he was laughing and is demanding an apology.

The Professional Footballers' Association will arbitrate between the pair at a face-to-face meeting. PFA chief Gordon Taylor said: "I've spoken to Trevor about this. It's a case of getting the two parties to meet and apologise and Trevor is perfectly prepared to do that."
