West Ham have been fined £50,000 and warned over their future conduct following the behaviour of their players in the wake of Mark Noble's red card against Liverpool last month.

The midfielder, who scored the east Londoners' second goal in a memorable 3-0 victory over Brendan Rodgers side at Anfield prior to the international break, was sent off in the closing stages of the encounter by referee Kevin Friend.

The 28-year-old stretched in an attempt to win the ball from Liverpool striker Danny Ings on the edge of his own penalty and was dismissed for a challenge that was deemed to have been dangerous.

Friend's original decision was overturned on September 2 after Noble declared that his tackle was not even worthy of a yellow card, which was a sentiment shared by Hammers boss Slaven Bilic.

However, the Football Association has now decided to charge West Ham for the overzealous reaction from Noble's team mates after the midfielder had been given his marching orders in front of the Kop.

"Following an independent regulatory commission hearing, West Ham United have been fined £50,000 and warned as to their future conduct after an FA player misconduct charge brought against the club was found proven," read a statement from the governing body.

"It was alleged that in or around the 78th minute of the game against Liverpool on 29 August 2015, West Ham failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

"The club had admitted the charge and submitted a plea for mitigation."

Noble will be available for West Ham's fixture against Newcastle at Upton Park on Monday night as the London club attempt to claim their third victory of the campaign and cement a place in the top 10.
