West Ham manager David Moyes has volunteered to take a pay cut during the coronavirus shutdown in order to protect the club's finances.

Moyes follow's Bournemouth's Eddie Howe and Brighton boss Graham Potter in offering to take a salary cut as managers across the Premier League look to do their part to aid clubs and staff amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Hammers are exploring a number of ways in which to lessen the financial impact of the lockdown, though at present all club staff remain on full pay while the limited number of casual matchday staff employed directly by West Ham have been paid in full despite the lack of matches.

In the Champiinship, Brentford manager Thomas Frank - as well as his coaching staff and senior management team - have agreed to take a pay cut.

Bees players, following a week of talks, also reached an agreement last week over a deferral which will see their wages capped at £5,000-a-week in order to protect the jobs of non-footballing staff.
