Derby manager Gary Rowett says the chance to play at Wembley in the third round of the Carabao Cup will not change how they approach their trip to Barnsley.

The only remaining second-round tie takes place at Oakwell on Tuesday night, after Derby's first-round tie at Grimsby had to be postponed and rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions, with the prize for the winner being a clash against Tottenham.

The Premier League club are playing all their home matches at the national stadium this season while their new stadium is built.

Derby are expected to make some changes to their team against Barnsley but it should still be a strong side with some experienced players that takes to the field.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Rowett told the Derby Telegraph: "If we did anything differently to what we did at Grimsby, it would be unprofessional of us.

"(Barnsley boss) Paul (Heckingbottom) has done a fantastic job. They had a terrific season last season and are a very difficult side to play against. You can tell they are well coached and have a great energy about them."

Heckingbottom acknowledged Derby's strength in depth and is looking for a cup run to supplement his team's Championship form.

"Derby could easily field two teams and not lose much quality. It's another tough test but we are looking forward to it," he told the Yorkshire club's official website.

"We might well make changes tomorrow ourselves. I now look at our bench and it's stronger. I have options now. We have a few knocks too.

"I'd love a cup run. A big reason for where we are is the Johnstone's Paint Trophy run (to the final in April 2016). You can gain real momentum in these competitions."

The winner will play the third-round tie against Tottenham on September 19.
