Following the close of the January transfer window, we caught up with our club experts to identify what plans are in place for this summer.

Tottenham brought in Lucas Moura from PSG last month in what was the club’s only signing of the window.

There was interest in Bordeaux winger Malcom, but the Ligue 1 side were reluctant to do business while in the midst of a relegation battle.

So what could Spurs do this summer? We caught up with Tom Collomosse to find out.

The current squad

“The key for Spurs is to keep their key attacking players, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, all of whom will be offered new contracts,” he explained.

“It would be no surprise to see Fernando Llorente and Danny Rose leave the club this summer.

“Llorente has failed to make an impact since joining from Swansea while the board are ready to listen to offers for England left-back Rose.

Toby Alderweireld’s future depends greatly on his contractual position, as the offer of a new deal remains unsigned, meaning the defender can leave for £25million in summer 2019 if that situation does not change.

Erik Lamela is another who may look elsewhere, especially since the arrival of Lucas Moura.”

Potential new arrivals

“Fulham’s attacking full-back Ryan Sessegnon is greatly admired at Spurs and looks a probable replacement for Rose, as long as Spurs are not blown out of the water by clubs with bigger budgets, and Bordeaux’s Brazilian attacker Malcom remains on the radar.

“Spurs are also working hard to find a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, who turns 31 in July and is susceptible to injury. James Maddison, of Norwich, is one to keep an eye on.”
