James Collins’ future at West Ham remains uncertain following interest from Premier League rivals Brighton.

The former Wales centre-half wants to end his career at the club he has served for almost a decade but is in the final year of his contract.

As yet, there has been no firm offer of a new deal for 34-year-old Collins and Brighton are poised to step in a with a £2million offer.

Injuries have punctuated Collins’ appearances this season, although he did play in West Ham’s 4-1 win at Huddersfield last weekend.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy say that Inter Milan’s Joao Mario has rejected the chance to join the Hammers on loan.

The 24-year-old Portugal midfielder joined Inter from Sporting Lisbon in 2016 in a £40million deal but has become frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities at the San Siro.
