Antonio Conte admits he will find sleeping in the aftermath of Chelsea's loss to Crystal Palace difficult, but is keen to find a solution - and not an excuse - to the club's woes of late.

Chelsea succumbed to their second straight defeat in the Premier League on Saturday when Wilfried Zaha's 45th-minute goal secured a 2-1 win for the Eagles at Selhurst Park.

The loss was Chelsea's second in a row following on from their 1-0 defeat at home to leaders Manchester City before the international break, which leaves the champions trailing Pep Guardiola's side by nine points.

With Conte also losing Victor Moses to injury against Palace - Chelsea now have four first-team players sidelined - the Italian described his soul as being in a bad place but insisted he would not look for excuses, rather search for a solution to his team's problems.

"I don't like to lose," Conte told reporters at Selhurst Park. "Imagine when you lose two games in a row. For sure, my soul today is bad.

"It will be very difficult for me to sleep. But I think we must have the same sensation, me and my players, to change things in the next game and be positive."

When asked whether he was worried with his squad depth, he replied: "I think the situation is very clear and everyone can see that situation.

"I repeat: my job is to be focused on my work with my players, and to try and do our best. It's not an easy moment for us.

"But I think that, in this moment, it's important to find a solution. Don't look for excuses. Through work, find a solution. It won't be easy, but my task is to try to find the solution and to put all of myself into my job."
