Tottenham vs Ajax: Donny van de Beek piles pressure on Spurs ahead of Champions League semi-final

Ajax star Donny van de Beek has put the pressure on Tottenham ahead of their Champions League semi-final meeting next week, hailing Mauricio Pochettino's side as the favourites to reach the final.

Ajax has already dispatched Juventus and holders Real Madird to reach the last four while Spurs triuphed over Manchester City in a thrilling quarter-final tor reach this stage of the Champions League for the first time.

Pochettino will be without Harry Kane for both legs as the striker struggles with another ankle injury while Heung-min Son (suspension) will miss the first leg.

Van de Beek, however, rejected any statement that Ajax go into the tie as favourites.

"I don't agree with that. Tottenham is one of the top teams in the Premier League and they are still my favourite," the midfielder told VTBL.

"That does not mean that we cannot beat them. We will have to reach a high level to beat Tottenham. It will depend on our own form. let's hope it is top.

"We are not afraid anyway. The only thing we can do is reach the same level as we have achieved in other competitions. We know it's a top team."

Spurs host Ajax in the first leg on April 30 before travelling to Amsterdam on May 8.
